Over 4 million tubes of toothpaste recalled. See affected products

More than 4 million tubes of various children’s and whitening toothpaste products have been voluntarily recalled nationwide after Pritam International Private Limited initiated the recall, which the FDA classified as a Class II recall on Oct. 19, 2026.

More than 4 million tubes of toothpaste have been recalled nationwide, including some popular children's brands.

Pritam International Private Limited initiated the voluntary recall on Sept. 10, according to an enforcement report from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The FDA classified the recall as Class II on Oct. 19.

The FDA's website lists a Class II recall as "a situation in which use of or exposure to a violative product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote."

According to the FDA, the recall includes multiple varieties of Brush Buddies kids toothpaste distributed nationwide, including some character-themed and ice-cream flavored flavors. The recall also included two types of Evo products marketed for teeth whitening and sensitivity, and two Aru products marketed for gum health and cavity protection.

The FDA did not give a reason for the toothpaste recall. USA TODAY contacted the agency, which did not immediately respond to a request for more information

Which toothpaste products were recalled?

The FDA's enforcement report lists several varieties of Brush Buddies children's toothpaste, including Hot Wheels-themed and My Little Pony-themed flavors, in addition to chocolate ice cream flavored, cookies 'n cream flavored and mint chocolate chip flavored flavors.
