Let's get carving!': Congresswoman introduces bill to add Trump to Mount Rushmore

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, R-Fla., has introduced a bill proposing to carve President Donald Trump into Mount Rushmore.
The South Dakota national memorial shows the faces of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln. Luna's announcement of the bill, which does not include any details on the timing or funding of the project, includes a rendering of Trump's figure in stone next to Lincoln's.
“President Trump’s bold leadership and steadfast dedication to America’s greatness have cemented his place in history," Luna said in a press release. "Mount Rushmore, a timeless symbol of our nation’s freedom and strength, deserves to reflect his towering legacy—a legacy further solidified by the powerful start to his second term.”

This is just Congresswoman Luna's latest attempt to honor Trump
This isn't the first piece of legislation Luna has proposed to honor Trump. In May, she pushed a bill to award Trump the Congressional Gold Medal for his first administration's foreign policy.
In the busy summer leading up to the 2024 election, other Republicans submitted bills proposing to rename Dulles International Airport for Trump, to print $500 bills with his portrait on it, and to name the country’s coastal exclusive economic zone for Trump. Some said the bills were moves to get Trump's attention.
After former President Joe Biden dropped out of the election, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said he was a "Mount Rushmore kind of president of the United States" in an interview with CBS News.
Luna was sworn into Congress in 2023, representing Florida's 13th District, covering the coastal area outside of Tampa, including Clearwater. She has been a vocal supporter of Trump, joining droves of Republicans who traveled to New York City to defend him while on trial in May.
