Where is Kamala Harris today? See her Election Day schedule, latest news on 2024 election
It's the final countdown! U.S. voters will go to the polls on Tuesday to cast their votes in the presidential election after a closely fought contest between Vice President Kamala Harris, a Democrat, and Republican former President Donald Trump.
In a new NPR/PBS News/Marist poll out Monday, the race was a dead heat — 49% to 49% — among registered voters. Among likely voters, Harris led 51% to 47%, an advantage still within the margin of error.
More than 82 million Americans have voted ahead of Election Day, according to the University of Florida's Election Lab, more than half the total 160 million ballots cast in 2020, in which U.S. voter turnout was the highest in over a century.
Harris is in Washington, D.C., and plans to celebrate election night at Howard University, her alma mater. If elected, she will be the first U.S. president to graduate from a historically Black college and university (HBCU).

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, Harris' running mate, and his wife, Gwen, will campaign in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, before heading to Washington. D.C. for a Harris-Walz election night event.
Trump is expected to be a Mar-a-Lago and will host a watch party at a convention center in West Palm Beach, Florida. This marks a change from the watch parties in 2022, and Super Tuesday, which took place at Trump's Palm Beach club, according to the Palm Beach Post, part of the USA TODAY Florida network.
