King Charles and Queen Camilla release Christmas card amid health issues

'Tis the season for a new royal Christmas card.

Buckingham Palace released a new card on Saturday featuring Queen Camilla and King Charles III to mark the season, featuring a previously seen imagewith the queen clad in a blue wool crepe dress by designer Fiona Clare and the king in a gray suit and blue tie.

The photo was taken by Prince William and Princess Kate's wedding photographer Millie Pilkington, in the Garden at Buckingham Palace in April. The yearly card for William, Kate and their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis has not yet been released.

Their Majesties Charles and Camilla are embracing the Christmas spirit after coming off of a tumultuous year marked by health issues.

Camilla, 77, was forced to cancel a number of public engagements after contracting a chest infection in November. The queen consort could not fully participate in the kickoff of Qatar Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani's state visit earlier this week because of its "lingering side effects," which has left her with "diminished reserves of energy," People reported. However, Camilla was well enough to join Charles in bidding the emir farewell a day later.

Earlier this year, Charles, 76, was diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer after a procedure for benign prostate enlargement, the palace announced in February. He returned to his public duties by the end of April.

The royal family is also coming off Kate's cancer diagnosis and treatment, for which she completed chemotherapy in September.

Kate hosted her fourth annual Christmas carol service at Westminster Abbey on Friday, set to be broadcast on Britain's ITV on Christmas Eve, Kensington Palace announced last month.
