What public reactions emerged from Diddy's trial?

PALM DESERT, Calif. – Never let it be said that Paul McCartney doesn’t tend to his fans.

At the Sept. 29 opener of the latest leg of his Got Back tour, the genial Beatle and his crackerjack band of veterans romped through 35 songs, touching on his tenure in the Fab Four, his years steering Wings and his fertile solo output.

Talk about a guy who has eras.

Through nearly three hours, McCartney, a still-boyish 83, captivated the sold-out crowd at Acrisure Arena with timeless music, chats about song origins and more than a couple of hip and arm wiggles.

Along with bandmates Wix Wickens (keyboards), Abe Laboriel Jr. (drums), Rusty Anderson (guitar), Brian Ray (guitar) and the Hot City Horns adding extra zip, McCartney conjured nostalgia with “Band on the Run,” “Get Back,” “Blackbird” and a fiery “Live and Let Die.”

He also opened the show with “Help!,” the first time the Beatles classic has been played live in its entirety on a McCartney tour. (He debuted it Sept. 26 at his tour warm-up in Santa Barbara, and last played the full song with The Beatles in 1965.)

The show kicked off the latest leg of McCartney’s Got Back tour, which played 16 U.S. concerts in 2022 before roaming around the world.

This 19-date North American jaunt of arenas and a few stadiums will also hit cities including Las Vegas, Minneapolis, Atlanta and Montreal, before wrapping with a double date in Chicago Nov. 24-25.
