The U.S. men's hockey team's viral locker room moment with President Donald Trump has dominated political epicenters, social media and sports discourse all week.
That hasn't stopped some celebrities from weighing in, too, from a "Heated Rivalry" star to former women's sports greats.

How US hockey got so heated
Trump invited the men's team to attend the Feb. 24 State of the Union address in a call to the locker room following their Feb. 22 gold-medal win at the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics. Viral video of the phone call sparked widespread criticism when Trump said he also had to invite the gold medal-winning women's team, too, or he would be "impeached." The video shows Trump's comment was met with laughter from some of the male players.

In the ensuing days, the women's team declined an invite to the State of the Union, citing "timing and previously scheduled academic and professional commitments" as the reason. Meanwhile, the men attended the address to much fanfare. Some of the men have lamented the political moment, embraced it or expressed regret.
