Aaron Goodwin "won't be watching" the new episode of "Ghost Adventures" after a real-life horror story played out during filming.

The reality series' latest episode, titled "Hollydale Asylum of Hell," included footage of star Goodwin learning that police were at his house because his wife was being arrested in an alleged plot to kill him.

The moment occurred at the end of an episode centered on the investigation into an abandoned medical complex. Cameras captured Goodwin, mid-filming, receiving an alarming notification on his phone.

"Dude," he says while looking down at his phone.

"Bro, the police are at my house," he continues after a long pause. Goodwin then steps outside to take a call. Host Zak Bagans explains that "at this point, we will not be showing any further footage, but it is at this moment that Aaron receives a call from the police that his wife has been arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit murder by hiring a hitman to have Aaron killed."

Police arrested Goodwin's wife, Victoria, on March 6 on suspicion of two felony charges: solicitation to commit murder and conspiring to commit murder.

According to a criminal complaint obtained by USA TODAY, she allegedly conspired with a man via cell phone communications to have her husband "killed by a third party by providing the location of the victim and providing funds to pay for the murder." He filed for divorce a week after the arrest.

Victoria Goodwin sentence

Goodwin pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 36-90 months in prison. In a statement read during the hearing, she apologized to Aaron, saying she is "so immensely sorry for the pain and anxiety I have caused you and the betrayal you undoubtedly and rightfully feel by my actions." She added that she is "consumed with regret every day" and is "ashamed" and "disappointed" with herself.

At the time, Aaron Goodwin said in a statement that the situation "has led me to fear for my life."

"I can't trust anything anymore," he shared. "I cry every day, I feel so alone. She turned me into a person I never was."

Investigators uncovered the alleged plot through texts and Facebook messages with a Florida inmate. According to police, in one of the communications, Victoria Goodwin asked whether she's "a bad person" and added "because I chose to end his existence. Not divorce."

In an Instagram post ahead of the new "Ghost Adventures" episode, Aaron Goodwin explained he "got the FaceTime call from the cops," who "told me what she did & she was arrested," while filming.

"I won't be watching this episode cause I don't want to relive that night again & what happened before the call," he wrote in the post.

Goodwin previously shared an update with fans on Oct. 20, writing that he is "not doing good at all & everyday is worse with all I'm learning all the time." He continued that "I just want the divorce to be over so I can move on with my life," adding, "This has been the worst year of my life."
