Nick Pasqual, an actor best known for his appearance on "How I Met Your Mother," has been found guilty of attempted murder after stabbing and sexually assaulting his ex-girlfriend.
A Los Angeles jury found Pasqual guilty on all six counts, including one count of attempted murder, with findings that he used a deadly weapon during a domestic violence incident. The other counts include one count of forcible rape; three felony counts of injuring a spouse, fiancée or partner; and one count of felony first-degree burglary with a person in the home, according to Los Angeles criminal records viewed by USA TODAY.
USA TODAY has reached out to Pasqual's counsel and the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office for comment.
Pasqual was first charged in 2024, after state prosecutors said he broke into makeup artist Allie Shehorn's Los Angeles home around 4:30 a.m. that May.
Pasqual stabbed his estranged girlfriend, who had recently filed a restraining order against him, "multiple times," according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office. Shehorn was taken to the hospital with critical injuries and, according to a GoFundMe page launched at the time, underwent several surgeries, including procedures to repair severed tendons in her right arm and to close wounds in her neck.
The actor was later detained at the U.S.-Mexico border checkpoint in Sierra Blanca, Texas, and extradited back to Los Angeles, according to the LA district attorney's office.
Pasqual pleaded not guilty last March. After a two-week trial, the jury deliberated for an hour and a half before reaching its verdict. He is set to be sentenced on June 2, when he will face a maximum of life in prison.
The actor, in addition to his appearance as Ted's student Will in the "How I Met Your Mother" Season 7 episode "Field Trip," also had uncredited roles in Zach Snyder's "Rebel Moon - Part One: A Child of Fire" and the Steve Jobs biopic "Jobs," and he starred in the 2009 Mischa Barton film "Homecoming."
